Description
A collection of readings for use in advanced undergraduate and graduate courses on race and ethnicity and on diversity in America. Taking the racial formation perspective on the study of race, ethnicity, and nationality as a starting point, essays extend this theory in a number of ways. Some essays apply this perspective to the analysis of changes in race relations, some examine intersections of ethnicity, class, race, and gender, and others deal with the deep structure and dynamics of identity formation and the neglect of nationality in racial and ethnic studies.
